Golf

Golf holds a prominent position at DPU, as many students share a common passion for this traditional sport. The large DPU golf community ranges from enthusiastic beginners to successful, competitive team players with excellent precision and outstanding handicaps.

The UNESCO World Heritage region of Wachau and Krems offers a wide variety of beautiful golf courses in its picturesque surroundings, such as the 36-hole partner course Golfclub Lengenfeld, located only 10 minutes from DPU and Krems. Another partner club is the Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrugg, Austria’s only European Tour Destination, providing the sportingly ambitious DPU golfer with a superbly maintained facility of the highest calibre.

DPU students benefit from attractive, exclusive conditions, including discounted student memberships, green fee agreements and training opportunities at the surrounding courses. In addition, a squad team has been established at DPU, receiving weekly top-level training sponsored by the university and representing DPU in tournaments across Austria.

Hunting

Hunting enthusiasts will find the perfect connection in the DPU Hunters Club. We are an association of active students and alumni, regularly organising meetings for hunting-related exchange, visiting a regional shooting range for training, actively engaging in hunts, and undertaking group hunting trips. In addition, the club is dedicated to preserving and fostering traditional hunting customs.

In cooperation with the Hunting School Schloss Bad Zwesten in Hesse, Germany, DPU students have the opportunity to jointly complete a hunting licence course. The preparatory courses, seminars and practical training sessions for the German hunting examination take place in Krems as well as at the surrounding shooting ranges.
Further information can be found on the website: www.jagdschule-schloss-bad-zwesten.de

Running

Sports icon running with blue silhouette of a running person in a golden circle.

In running sports, not only motivated runners come together, but also athletes from other disciplines or those who simply feel like joining a training session. After all, running is for everyone! With the professionally guided training of “Muchfit”, we focus on running technique; hypertrophy, myofascial training, stability and strength training, as well as endurance sessions are alternated in the programme. Thanks to this great support, we prepare together for competitions as well as personal goals. For years, we have successfully taken part in events such as the Wachau Marathon and the Vienna City Run. The training with “Muchfit” takes place every Monday at 6:30 pm and is sponsored by the DPU. It is therefore free of charge for DPU students, and the entry fees for various events are usually also covered by the University.

For our tennis players, there is an exclusive and performance-oriented DPU women’s and men’s team. Both are coached weekly by our certified tennis coach, Max Fürtler, and have already entered the league.
In addition, DPU doubles tournaments are held, giving all tennis players the opportunity to get to know one another and find new partners.
Furthermore, the DPU maintains a cooperation with the Kremser Tennis Klub (KTK), offering a limited number of memberships so students can unwind on the court after a day at university.

DPU provides an agreed number of students with the opportunity to use the courts of the Kremser Tennis Klub (KTK) free of charge, once registered (first come, first served).
