Music and Medicine – A Wonderful Connection

As part of the RESOUND cooperation, the President of the Danube Private University, Prof. h. c. M. B. Wagner-Pischel, invited guests to Wiener Neustadt on 17 October.

At a get-together, numerous guests from regional politics, the medical staff of the DPU University Hospital Wiener Neustadt, as well as the presidency, lecturers, researchers and students of the Danube Private University came together for a communicative exchange.

City Councillor for Culture Franz Piribauer, MSc, and Prof. Dr Ojan Assadian, MSc, DTMH, Medical Director of the State Hospital Wiener Neustadt, welcomed the guests at the Museum St. Peter an der Sperr. Afterwards, Prof. Dr Giovanni Maio MA gave a lecture on “the comforting power of music and medicine.”

Finally, in Wiener Neustadt Cathedral, Mayor Mag. Klaus Schneeberger welcomed the guests before the Wiener Akademie Orchestra, conducted by Prof. Martin Haselböck, performed Anton Bruckner’s 6th Symphony, often referred to as a “Hymn to the Beauty of the Earth.”
