Especially in times of rapid, dynamic developments in medicine, technology, and artificial intelligence (AI), it is essential to follow a lifelong learning principle to ensure the long-term success of your practice.

In the winter semester 2025/26, DPU launched its innovative university-level continuing education programme Academic Expert, corresponding to the subject areas of the MSc (CE) programmes, each with a two-year curriculum (80 ECTS). Participation is open even to career entrants, and upon successful completion, graduates can seamlessly progress – with full recognition of their achievements – into the third and final year of the relevant Master of Science (Continuing Education) specialisation, MSc (CE) (120 ECTS).

The DPU offers the Academic Expert qualification as part of a combined study agreement with the relevant Master of Science (Continuing Education) programme, MSc (CE).

The postgraduate continuing education programme Academic Expert in Leadership in Dentistry combines clinical, scientific and didactic content in dentistry with topics in communication, leadership, ethics, medical law, health economics and business development.

The programme concludes with a written examination and a specialist lecture on a curriculum-relevant topic. In this way, DPU pursues a clear mission: the systematic development of scientific leadership skills and the education of individuals who will play a decisive role in shaping future research, clinical practice and academic teaching and/or who, in times of dynamic change in medicine and technology, seek to strategically enhance the success of their practice and ensure its long-term sustainability.
