Danube Private University (DPU) was the first private university in Austria to receive accreditation for a department of medicine and dentistry. It can now draw on a wealth of experience in postgraduate and undergraduate study programmes and has gained outstanding international recognition. Some 2,000 students are enrolled at DPU for the 2021 summer semester.
In addition to the Bachelor of Science in Human Medicine (BSc), the Master of Science in Human Medicine (Dr. med. univ.) and the Diploma in Dentistry (Dr. med. dent.) programmes, the Bachelor of Arts in Dental Hygiene (BA) and Bachelor/Master of Arts in Medical Journalism and Public Relations (BA/MA) programmes complement DPU’s range of primary study programmes.
DPU is supported by PUSH – Postgraduale Universitätsstudien für Heilberufe GmbH – which has been providing Master of Science in Specialisation (MSc) programmes for more than two decades (programme languages: German/English) for dentists from all over the world, also in previous cooperation with Danube University Krems (DUK). To date, more than 5,000 dentists have graduated from the Master of Science in Specialisation (MSc) programmes. A further 1,100 are currently enrolled in one of the study programmes.
The gamut of courses at DPU is completed by the Doctoral Programme in Dentistry (PhD), the crown of science, combined with DPU's right to award habilitations (post-doctoral lecture qualification required under Austrian law for obtaining a professorship).
