Danube Private University (DPU) was the first private university in Austria to receive accreditation for a department of medicine and dental medicine. By now, it can draw on a wealth of experience in postgraduate and undergraduate study programmes and has gained outstanding international recognition. Some 1,900 students are enrolled at DPU for the 2019/20 winter term.
In addition to the Bachelor of Science in Human Medicine (BSc), the Master of Science in Human Medicine (Dr. med. univ.) and the Diploma in Dental Medicine (Dr. med. dent.) programmes, the Bachelor of Dental Hygiene (BA) and Bachelor/Master of Medical Journalism and Public Relations (BA/MA) programmes complement DPU’s range of primary study programmes.
Danube Private University (DPU) is being operated by PUSH – Postgraduale Universitätsstudien für Heilberufe GmbH, which has been working to provide Master of Science (MSc) programmes (study languages: German/English) for dentists worldwide for almost two decades – also in previous cooperation with the Danube University Krems (DUK). To date, more than 6,000 dentists have been awarded the Master of Science degree (MSc) in the field. A further 1,100 are currently taking one of the university programmes.
The gamut of courses of Danube Private University (DPU) is completed by the Doctoral Programme in Dental Medicine (PhD) as the crown of science, combined with the right to award habilitations (post-doctoral lecture qualification required under Austrian law for obtaining a professorship) for DPU.
