Bachelor of Arts in Medical Journalism and Public Relations (BA)
In principle, the students must meet the admission requirements stipulated in § 63 of the Austrian University Act (UG 2002), i.e. they must have a "general university entrance qualification", a "European school leaving certificate" or an "equivalent qualification" (e.g. Abitur, international baccalaureate) in accordance with § 64 UG.
An admission procedure is carried out that focuses not on the Matura or Abitur grading, but on a “Matura-plus concept”. The objective of this admission procedure is to find talented and motivated young people who want to learn independent and scientific thinking. They are willing and able to undergo vocational training and develop the ability to come up with ideas and the will to shape their field. International applicants have equal opportunities. The admission procedure is based on the principle of an arbitrary discretionary decision in several stages.
1st stage:
Sending the application documents
*If the general university entrance qualification has not yet been completed, your proof must be submitted as soon as possible. The most recent end-of-year report must be sent beforehand.
2nd stage:
After a positive assessment of the application documents, applicants are invited to a written admission test (single choice) and a personal one-on-one interview at DPU (review of subject-specific, social and communicative skills).
3rd stage:
Once the admission process has been completed, the Academic Director of the programme ranks the candidates admitted to the course based on the results.
