PUSH GmbH (Postgraduate University Studies for Medical Professions)
PUSH GmbH (Postgraduate University Studies for Medical Professions has been providing Master of Science university postgraduate programmes for dentists from all over the world for almost two decades with the greatest success — previously partly in cooperation with the Danube University Krems (DUK). Over 5,600 dentists have graduated with a Master of Science (MSc) in their specialized field to date and 1,100 dentists are currently enrolled in one of the university’s postgraduate programmes.
The Danube Private University (DPU) itself offers the following fully accredited Master of Science “postgraduate” programmes in various different fields of dentistry, all of which are recognized throughout Europe:
Lifelong Learning – STATE OF THE ART
Our mission is to provide dentists with a lifelong offer of postgraduate university training to help them remain at the forefront of their industry with the constantly updated knowledge and key resources that they need to acquire for the success of their treatments and practices, and thus ensure constant innovative change in dentistry.
Enrolment in a career-integrated Master of Science (MSc) university programme ensures a high level of dental expertise through the comprehensive enhancement of knowledge and skills according to the state of the art.
The Master of Science programmes are suited to all age groups. Whereas more experienced dentists sometimes view them as an opportunity to give their practices and careers new impetus, younger colleagues see them as the chance to specialize in a preferred field of dentistry and achieve the very highest standards in their profession from the very start of their careers. The dentists experience new knowledge, discover new impulses and gain deeper insights through the ideal of lifelong learning. The students set themselves the very highest standards with a postgraduate course of study and as a result enrich their professional and private lives. The academic title of “Master of Science in Specialization (MSc)” allows them to identify themselves as specialists to their patients.
The very highest standards in science, teaching and practice are assured and maintained through renowned academic staff and lecturers with outstanding didactical skills and study programmes oriented towards dental excellence practices, as well as within the framework of the routine quality assurance procedures prescribed by AQ Austria, the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Agentur für Qualitätssicherung und Akkreditierung Austria), and confirmed by the Master’s students themselves. The courses are organized as modules over a three-year period, allowing them to be easily integrated into the lives and careers of practicing dentists. The high demand shows the international acceptance and recognition for the mainly German academic staff and lecturers from renowned universities, who generate enthusiasm and joy for new knowledge and innovative treatments among their students. The high demand reflects the level of international acceptance and recognition for our renowned academic staff and lecturers from leading universities in the German-speaking countries, and their ability to generate enthusiasm and joy for new knowledge and innovative treatments among students.
Exchange with Colleagues
The students find themselves in a circle of interesting colleagues seeking to further their knowledge in a specific field of their profession. The professional exchanges among colleagues, the friendships that result and the cooperation between practices that develop result in a resource of expertise for practice work that should not be underestimated.
Improving the Success of Practices
The Institute of German Dentists (Institut Deutscher Zahnärzte – IDZ), together with the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (Kassenzahnärztliche Bundesvereinigung – KZBV) and the German Dental Association (Bundeszahnärztekammer – BZÄK) concluded from annual revenue statistics that dental practices, which had specialized, for example, in implantology, orthodontics, periodontics, endodontics and aesthetic-reconstructive dentistry, earned significantly higher revenue from fees than general dental practices (between 40% and 100% more). This fact also represents one of the foundations for the Master of Science programmes and their success at the DPU/DUK.
Career-Integrated Study in Accordance with EU Guidelines
A modern Master of Science programme offers far more than professional training and qualifications alone. It is organized, in accordance with the EU regulations for recognizing academic master’s degrees, as a six-semester course with a workload of 90–120 ECTS and 45–50 days of attendance, allowing for modular organization and career-integrated study alongside the running of a successful practice. The individual courses take place at regular intervals in the form of modules, between which the students can already apply what they have learned in their practices.
After fulfilling the European ECTS requirements (Master’s thesis of approx. 40 A4 pages, documentation of eight to ten practical cases, multiple choice tests, examinations and oral/written tests), students in the university’s dental programmes graduate with a “Master of Science (M.Sc.)” degree in the dentistry field in question, e.g. “Master of Science in Oral Surgery/Implantology (M.Sc.)” or “Master of Science in Orthodontics (M.Sc.)”, etc. but above all with excellent opportunities for a more successful practice.
The outstanding success of the MSc degree programmes is shown by the fact that one third of our graduates have already started or graduated from their second, third or even fourth Master of Science degrees.
You too could be one of them.
