Implantology and oral surgery are two important elements of dental, oral and maxillofacial medicine, and in their view they undoubtedly support and complement each other. Implantology is one of the major growth areas. No other area has developed as strongly in recent years from a diagnostic, therapeutic and scientific perspective. Other factors such as demographic development, the multimorbidity of older patients and the constantly changing spectrum of medicine with new treatment options also place new and ever higher demands on surgical treatment. Nor should the needs of the patient be forgotten. The majority of patients still want holistic treatment from their family dentist, despite the general trend towards specialisation. It should therefore be a matter of course for the practice of today to successfully offer implantology and oral surgery.
Anyone who has ever dealt with implantology and oral surgery wants to expand their intellectual and manual range of skills. Dentists should not immediately push themselves to their limits, but rather undertake to a well-founded scientific learning process. The transfer of secure concepts and alternatives, combined with manual skills, should enable dentists to meet the demands of successful implantation and surgery even in difficult situations and to intervene confidently in the event of complications. This programme meets the contemporary and increased surgical requirements. You, too, can meet the expectations of a modern society and qualify yourself for the future.

The high quality of the Master of Science in Orthodontics (MSc) programme has long been internationally recognised and is part of the new Master of Science in Orthodontics degree (Continuing Education), (MSc (CE)). This is proven by the numerous international students from almost 66 nations, including the USA, South Africa, United Arab Emirates and New Zealand.
In addition to the treatment of children and adolescents, which is still predominantly practised in orthodontics, the periodontal, functional, pre-prosthetic and aesthetic treatment of adults is a wide field of practice. New treatment techniques and methods that meet the needs of orthodontic adult treatment are taught in detail and in a practical manner. This makes orthodontics a treatment method that crosses generations. The digital workflow in orthodontics and other innovative application techniques are integrated throughout the state-of-the-art curriculum.

Aesthetic-reconstructive dentistry makes complex demands on dentists when it comes to meeting the patient’s wishes in the best possible way. The focus is on interdisciplinary treatment concepts drawn from different areas of dentistry. The postgraduate Master of Science (Continuing Education) programmes therefore focus on interdisciplinary planning and action. A variety of materials and methods have become available, especially in the area of highly aesthetic patient care, which need to be classified critically. Especially in the field of digitalisation of dentistry, it is important to distinguish between technical possibilities and integration into everyday practice. Exemplary topics in the curriculum also cover metal-free reconstructions, pre-prosthetic surgery, adhesive techniques and interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment strategies.
In addition to the dental possibilities, increased patient demands must also be taken into account. These are often no longer shaped by life expectancy or phase of life, but rather by the quality of life to be achieved. Fixed restorations are thereby becoming increasingly important. This also expressly includes the timing and preparation of interim solutions.
From an aesthetic point of view, minimally invasive techniques in dentistry and long-term tooth preservation often place very high demands on patient care. For this purpose, specific skills and methods are discussed and presented in detail.
The objective of the master's degree programme is therefore to promote interdisciplinary thinking, planning and action in order to achieve a high level of patient satisfaction and quality of life, while taking individual expectations into account.

Endodontics is like many things in life. You first have to develop a relationship with it. Then you can experience the dynamism, increased achievements and joy in the activity.
Endodontics is the basis of modern dentistry. Endodontic treatment cases occur almost daily in every dental practice. These are often seen as time-consuming treatment measures in the everyday work at practices, which can only be brought into systematic order with concepts, training, modern materials and equipment.
Typically, dentists do not realise the potential for success in their practices that endodontics can bring until later in their careers.
The Master of Science (Continuing Education) in Endodontics, is a degree programme with clear academic and practical content, distinct in its conception and orientation from conventional curricula and continuing education courses. Endodontics is taught from top to bottom here, including topics such as:
- Endosurgery
- Post-endodontic treatment and materials science
- Guided endodontics – three-dimensional imaging in endodontics.

The knowledge of how inflammatory periodontal destructive processes occur has been deepened and expanded in recent years. It is the tissue response caused by microbial irritation from subgingival biofilms that initiates the destruction of the marginal periodontium and also shows systemic effects as chronic periodontitis.
New therapy approaches have therefore been developed to supplement mechanical therapy. These have made enormous progress in terms of methodology and instrumentation. Due to the contemporary demand for the protection of tissue with regeneration potential, the generous periodontal flap operations have been replaced by delicate, reconstructive and repairing methods that are able to meet even the highest aesthetic standards. However, there are limits to both perio therapy and endotherapy. Teeth are removed and replaced by implants.
The primary requirement for the correct insertion and problem-free retention of implants in edentulous jaw sections is favourable assessment of the quality and quantity of the alveolar bone and the thickness of the mucosa using appropriate modern methods. If therapeutically necessary, the jawbone and/or peri-implant mucosa must be augmented beforehand using plastic perio surgery methods to ensure that implants are perfectly anchored.
Periodontal therapy measures and implants invariably require personal and professional aftercare. Modern mechanical, hydrodynamic and chemical aids are included in daily oral hygiene according to the patient’s manual skills.
