Erasmus+
Erasmus+ is the EU programme for general and vocational education and training, youth and sport for the period 2021–2027. The overarching goal of the programme is to support the educational, professional and personal development of people in the fields of general and vocational education and training, youth and sport in Europe and beyond through lifelong learning, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, high-quality jobs and social cohesion, promoting innovation, and strengthening European identity and active citizenship.
Erasmus+ Placements Abroad (Bachelor’s & Master’s)
Stays abroad must be applied for at the DPU and approved by the Student Services Office (Student Services Office Wiener Neustadt) before applying for Erasmus+ funding.
The most suitable opportunities for stays abroad are during a clinical traineeship (Famulatur) or the Clinical Practical Year (CPY). Within the Erasmus+ programme, this type of student mobility is referred to as “mobility for traineeships.”
- Clinical Traineeship (Famulatur)
As part of an extended clinical traineeship (Famulatur), up to 16 weeks may be spent abroad.
- CPY
During the CPY, a maximum of one tertial (16 weeks) may be spent abroad. Students have the opportunity to choose the subjects and content abroad themselves, provided that the prescribed curricular learning objectives are achieved.
Erasmus+ Semester Abroad
There is also the option of a stay abroad in the form of a semester abroad. Within the Erasmus+ programme, this type of student mobility falls under “student mobility for studies.”
Whether a semester abroad is possible depends on whether the curriculum at the desired university is compatible with that of the DPU.
Eligibility Requirements for Applying for Erasmus+ Funding
Please note that your tuition fees must continue to be paid even during a stay abroad.
Duration of the Activity
Student mobility for study purposes: 2 months (or one academic semester or trimester) to 12 months of physical mobility, excluding travel time.
Student mobility for traineeships: 2 to 12 months of physical mobility, excluding travel time.
