The Heracles-Hebe-Foundation of the Danube Private University
A bridge between science and the reality of human life
The Heracles–Hebe Foundation exists to bridge science and human experience, body and mind, health and culture. Our mission is to foster physical, mental, and social well-being through education, movement, and artistic expression – helping people of all ages live in balance with themselves, their communities, and their environment. We understand health not only as something measured in clinics, but as a cultural act that is learned, experienced, and shared.
In essence, the Heracles-Hebe Foundation of the Danube Private University transforms health from an abstract ideal into a lived cultural practice – uniting research, creativity, and compassion under one purpose: to make health a shared human experience.
In simple terms: We turn knowledge into culture and culture into well-being.
The foundation´s identity
The Foundation’s identity is shaped by three symbolic “wings,” which guide how we design and deliver our work:
- Heracles – Physical Vitality & Discipline: Strength, endurance, and the practical discipline of everyday health: movement, posture, sleep, and balanced nutrition.
- Hebe – Mental & Emotional Renewal: Youthful freshness and inner balance: creativity, arts practice, mindfulness, and self-expression that lower stress and build resilience.
- Humanitas – Connection & Meaning: Belonging and purpose: education, dialogue, intergenerational exchange, and the humanities as a compass for ethical, compassionate living.
These wings converge in Living Labs, our real-world spaces where citizens, researchers, companies, educators, clinicians, and artists co-create and test humane, preventive ways to live well.
Positioning
The Foundation sits at the meeting point of health, education, and culture. Our programs are preventive, practical, and welcoming. We are evidence-aware without being lab-heavy, and artistic without becoming ornamental.
- What we are: a cultural engine for health, grounded in science and humanistic values.
- What we are not: a medical provider, a therapy service, or a commercial fitness program.
Guiding principles
- Preventive and personalized. We focus on early, practical steps that fit different bodies, ages, and contexts.
- Humanistic and holistic. We treat health as physical, mental, and social – never one dimension alone.
- Art as a mental booster. Creative practice is not decoration; it is a proven route to regulation, meaning, and belonging.
- Evidence-aware, not clinical. We apply good science with light measurement and clear boundaries (no diagnoses, no medical records).
- Safety and dignity first. Safeguarding, consent, inclusivity, and referral pathways are built into everything we do.
Boundaries and ethics: What participants can expect
- Our programs are non-diagnostic and non-stigmatizing. We use plain language and set clear expectations.
- We collect only minimal, anonymous monitoring data (e.g., short well-being scales) to improve quality and report public impact.
- When a need exceeds our scope, we signpost to professional care through established referral pathways.
- We respect time, privacy, and cultural background.
Character and communication
The Foundation speaks in a voice that is warm, clear, and respectful. We value simplicity over jargon, beauty over noise, and invitation over instruction. Visually, our identity blends the three wings with calm, natural colors; in person, we move at a human pace – hands-on, face-to-face, with room for reflection.
