Physics and Chemistry of Materials

The "Physics and Chemistry of Materials" research area, under the scientific direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. DI Christoph Kleber, deals with the development of new materials with specifically adjustable properties. For this purpose, an understanding of the structure-property relationship must be developed, which should make it possible to predict the behaviour of materials (e.g. the corrosion resistance of implants) and thus contribute to accelerated material development. In the "Medical Technology and Sensor Technology" area, (diagnostic) methods and procedures are developed that are intended to contribute to accelerating the safety and speed of in-vitro analyses – even in complex media – and making them more robust.
