The children of professors of medicine and dentistry, doctors and dentists
study at the Danube Private University.

The Danube Private University (DPU) in the picturesque setting of the Wachau Valley UNESCO cultural landscape (Austria) has established itself as Europe’s most renowned university of dental medicine. The majority of the students in the university’s six-year Diploma Programme in Dental Medicine (Dr. med. dent) are the children of professors, as well as dentists and doctors with successful practices of their own from all over the world, particularly Europe. One such example of a successful practice run by the family of a student can be found here:

In Summer Semester 2019, we will be arranging an English-language version of our Diploma Programme in Dental Medicine (Dr. med. dent). The programme is based on the humanistic ideal, which not only forms the basis for dental excellence, but also integrates other interesting and important aspects for the personal development of young people.

Prospective students will receive support and advice on the arrangement of a visa and accommodation. They will also undergo an entrance examination, as well as other tests that may be required for the recognition of their university entrance qualifications.

The Diploma Programme in Dental Medicine (Dr. med. dent) is conducted in English. The corresponding proficiency in English is therefore a requirement of the course. The Danube Private University guarantees a degree programme in dental medicine with an early practical orientation, the state-of-the-art in science and equipment (please view our promotional video for further information DPU Video).

Although the course is conducted in English, the university places a special emphasis on students attending a German language course throughout to ensure that they are well received at their place of study and the region as a whole. After completing the first three-years of their studies, the students require a level of proficiency in German that allows them to treat patients; German lessons are therefore conducted monthly during the course. In addition, students should also provide proof of the required knowledge in Latin during the pre-clinical phase (1st-6th semester). Students can also attend courses in this subject at the DPU, in addition to the course of study in dental medicine.

The Danube Private University is situated in the heart of the Wachau Valley UNESCO cultural landscape, a beautiful setting that offers the students a wide variety of recreational activities. The Danube Private University also offers its students a broad spectrum of sports as a balance to the challenges of their studies, all of which are free of charge, with the exception of golf. Students are also provided with recommendations and invitations to classical music concerts. There are excursions arranged to allow students to discover and experience the cultural region of the university not far away from the capital of Austria, Vienna.
