Danube Private University (DPU) was the first private university in Austria to obtain accreditation for a Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.

Today, the university can look back on considerable successes in both teaching and research, and has established itself on the international stage. Geographically, it is embedded in the Wachau UNESCO World Heritage Site, just 60 km from Vienna, in one of the most attractive regions of Austria.

Innovation was a key driver in the foundation of DPU in 2009 and remains firmly embedded in the DPU mission to this day. The university’s leadership and its team of renowned academics, who possess expertise in the fields of dentistry and human medicine, regard students as partners in teaching and research. They strive to realise a study concept that requires students to engage in professional activities at an early stage. Our curricula comply with relevant EU directives and are supplemented by topics such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence and oral medicine, with state-of-the-art equipment to put theory into practice.

DPU currently has over 2,600 students from 66 nations, creating a vibrant international community. Several thousand graduates from the Master of Science (MSc) programme and 800 graduates from the Diploma programme in Dental Medicine (Dr. med. dent.) serve as ambassadors of dental excellence and deliver outstanding dental care around the world.
